The Strange and Mysterious Saga of Zeppo Marx: A Tale of Weirdness

as MOVIE NITE commenced once again in TiTo's Garage, i eagerly anticipated the nite's selection: MARX BROTHERS DOUBLE-FEATURE! ''Monkey Business'' and ''Duck Soup''... as we watched what can be arguably called the two most absurdly hilarious films ever made by mankind, i believe it was TiTo that suggested that all of this could be made up for the benefit of the viewer... and that the only truly ''real'' Marx Brother was Zeppo. that is, to say [a'la Fight Club], that the 3 other Marx Brothers were figments of the overactive and possibly drug-addled brain of Zeppo Marx. Harpo, Chico, and Groucho all arguably act far too manic and insane to be real human beings. they are more akin to Looney Tunes characters, with their attentions being set more on playing people for fools. they take part in and actively commit crimes, both minor and major, misdemeanor and felony... with little to no consequence. Zeppo is the only one mildly interested in any sort of pursuit of 'normalcy'. could it be that this rather ordinary, almost boring fellow is simply living out his desire of a wild lifestyle with no regard for social normalities vis-a-vis three men with contempt for all others around them, who smoke, drink, flirt with women, fight with men [when they arent stealing from them or foiling their plans], and live life to the fullest, in stark contrast to his own sad, dull, meaningless existence?
